I bought the 2011 paperback version of this, and it is complete crap. The images have jpeg artifacts and are placed randomly on the page, sometimes in the middle of a line. The printed part of the page is much smaller than the full page. It looks like someone printed a Word document on the wrong size paper and bound it as a book. I haven ever seen such a low-quality book. I'll be returning it and looking for a hardback in person, I guess.Product details

This is a short but adorable book of children's poetry that is whimsically illustrated and brilliantly written.
It is worth every penny! I read it aloud to my daughter and five minutes after we finished she was improvising her own poems. It was great!
This book made me laugh!! It is the kind of book children usually want read to them over and over!
This book has cartoon style sketches of different animals with clever and informative if not a little outdated nursery rhymes about each one. What I did not expect after reading the reviews on this book was it's small size and lack of color in the pictures. After receiving and reading the book I can say that it's expensive for what you get and there are far better options out there for less money.
If you love Belloc, and I do, you can't miss this foray into his imagination. If you have a clever child, read it together.
